How to Create a Seller's account at Tijarat

If you're thinking about selling on Tijarat the process is really simple. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started as a seller on our platform.

Step 1: Create a User Account

You will need first create a user account. Follow the standard registration process to set up your basic user profile before proceeding to seller registration.

Step 2: Access Seller Registration

After creating user account and signing in please click on the link that says "Sell" on top grey colour toolbar, it will lead you into seller registration page. This "Sell" link is prominently displayed in the header navigation and will redirect you to the seller registration form where you can begin the process of becoming a verified seller on Tijarat.

Step 3: Complete Seller Registration Form

On seller registration page enter the name of your Store/Business, Upload a Store/Business picture, Business Address, CNIC information with CNIC images, a little description about your Store/Business and then click "Register Seller Account". Make sure all the information you provide is accurate and complete as this will be used for verification purposes. The business picture should be clear and professional, representing your store or brand appropriately.

Step 4: Identity Verification via OTP

You will be led into an identity verification window via OTP. Please enter your mobile number and an OTP code will be sent to your mobile, please enter that OTP code and then your Seller's Registration application will be sent for approval. This step ensures the security and authenticity of seller accounts on our platform. Make sure to use a mobile number that you have access to as this will be important for future communications.

Step 5: Wait for Approval

If approved, approval message will be sent through email (Usually within 24 hours). Upon receipt of approval email, you will be able to use the Seller's Dashboard. Our team reviews all seller applications to ensure quality and authenticity of sellers on the platform. Once approved, you'll have full access to all seller features and can begin listing your products.

Setting Payment Methods

After getting approval of your seller account, you should set the "Payment Methods" to choose which one of the three "payment collection" options you would like to enable. At this time only Cash on Delivery (COD) option is enabled, however in near future Easy-Paisa, Jazz-cash and Visa will also be enabled. Please make selection for payment options you will be accepting.

Please note even though you may choose a preferred payment collection option but if you have enabled more than one payment collection option then the buyer will have the choice to pay with any accepted option. This gives buyers flexibility while ensuring you can receive payments through your preferred methods.

Setting Shipping Rules

It is important that you set shipping rules so that final checkout price fairly represents the cost of the product for the buyer. Proper shipping rules ensure transparency and help avoid any confusion during the checkout process.

1. Distance Based Shipping Cost Rules

To set distance-based shipping rules, you can create rules that automatically calculate shipping costs based on the distance between your location and the buyer's location. This is useful for sellers who want to charge shipping based on geographical proximity. The system allows you to set different rates for different distance ranges, ensuring fair pricing for both local and distant customers.

Basic distance-based shipping rule can be configured in your seller dashboard under the shipping settings section. You can set multiple distance brackets with corresponding shipping costs to provide accurate shipping charges to your customers.

2. Shipping Rules for Specific Cities or Regions

To create special shipping rules for a city or a group of cities, you can set custom rates for specific locations. This is particularly useful if you want to offer special rates for certain areas or provide free shipping to local customers.

For example, you can set special shipping rule for Lahore and set Rs.0 as the shipping cost for free shipping. Similarly, you can set shipping rule for another city like Gujranwala to Rs.25, providing flexibility in your shipping strategy.

You can also set shipping cost rule for a group of cities by selecting multiple cities and applying the same shipping rate to all of them. This helps streamline your shipping management for regions with similar logistics costs.

Setting International Shipping Rules

If seller intends to sell and ship items outside Pakistan, then the seller should set international shipping rules for countries the seller intends to sell and ship. Note: not setting international shipping rules for products sold internationally would result in shipping cost to be Rs.0, thus requiring shipping cost to be absorbed by the seller.

For sellers who want to sell products all over the world but want to set special shipping rates for a few countries and have flat rates for all other countries, you must first set rules for these individual countries or regions and then set the rule (flat rate) for all rest of the world.

Setting Rules for Individual Countries

You can create shipping rules for single countries or groups of countries. For example, you might set a specific rate for one country, or create a cluster rule for multiple countries like Canada, Mexico, and United States with the same shipping rate.

Rest of the World Shipping Rules

You can set a shipping rule for the rest of the world, which includes all countries not specifically mentioned in your individual country rules. The system also allows you to remove certain countries from this "rest of world" rule if needed, giving you complete control over your international shipping strategy.

Special Shipping Rule "Per Product"

There is a third option for shipping rules where you can set "product specific shipping rule". This option is useful when you have a product which you want to ship at a cost totally different from cost of other products you maybe selling. Examples can be expensive products like jewelry, high-end electronics or some other products like furniture where shipping cost rules set for other general products may not apply.

This kind of shipping cost rule is added during "Product addition" process. In the "Product Add" page, you can choose "Special shipping rules for this product only" option which will allow you to set custom shipping rules specifically for that individual product, overriding your general shipping settings.

After choosing "Special shipping rules for this product only" you will be able to set shipping rules that apply only to that specific product. This gives you maximum flexibility in managing shipping costs for products that require special handling or have unique shipping requirements.
